Just arrived in St Petersburg

Hello! I made it to St Petersburg ok although was a little late, but nothing new there! So far I am just really pleased to have got through the first 24 hours without beeing scammed by the police, but apart from that I don't have any amazing stories to tell as of yet. Although I did see a bear in the park, but I don't think it counts as it was someones pet. We went to see the ice-hockey this evening too, St Petersburg v Minsk, which was interesting with the language barriers!

I've met all my group now and they are all really nice (four other Brits, an Australian and an Amsterdamian). All of us are really feeling the cold, and I'm certain this is the coldest i've ever been, colder than winter in Chicago and the Sweedish Arctic, and even colder than the BMB studio when the windows are open!

I'm getting the train to Moscow tomorrow evening and I'll write again when I'm there, hopefully with more to tell, but for now just wanted to check in so you know I made it ok. I have to go now, Russian warning boxes keep popping up on screen and I don't understand! bye

  1. Glad you made is safely.

Been really cold here over the last couple of days getting to -7 at night. We had snow on Monday morning and it still has not melted, but Santa got me some leather gloves for Christmas so they are keeping my fingers warm.

How long are you staying in Moscow?

Only just over 7 weeks until we get to meet up and give you your Speical K ; )

    Speak soon

  3. Hiya, Glad you got there safe and sound (well - as sound as you could be!) I was so cold when I was skiing I bought some thermal - a mere £130!!!! But I swear they were so toasy warm I didn'y mind!
I enjoyed Moscow, I thought Red Square was great, the Undergrounds are and experience and I loved the massive 'Hammer & Sickle' stature - I hope you enjoy your 'experiences' there too.
I'm off to Jane's on Sunday to 'Come Dine With Me' for dinner - Me, Jane, Sarah and Coz are taking it in turns to cook and will mark each other on it!!! I bet you're glad you have a good excuse not to be involved!! Love to duck. Cxx

  4. Can't wait for the Special K, really starting to miss it! Pleased you guys are feeling my pain regarding the cold, although hope it warms up for you all soon. We're here in Moscow til Saturday evening I think, I'm not sure, I'll have to check.

Thanks for getting this proofread Damo, I really appreciate that! Is it terrible? I can't bare to go back and read it. My excuse is I don't get long on-line and most of the time is spent trying to get around the Russian keyboard and messages on screen. Even google is a mission!
